After the initial set up, a user can immediately listen to digital radio (DAB+). The signal in our office (North Sydney) is strong, allowing us to listen to most digital radio stations without having to fully extend the antennae. Some of our favourite stations include Koffee, Radar, and GORILLA. If digital radio is not available in your area, you can still listen to standard FM using the FM band radio tuner. It could have been better though if Oxx Digital also included an AM tuner so that users can also listen to talkback radio.
The Classic also connects to Internet Radio via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Users can choose to connect to local Internet radio stations, Podcasts, and any other subscription-free stations from all over the world. The audio quality depends on the station’s streaming format (bit rate transfer), so make sure that you listen to a station that streams at 128kbps.

While the Classic does not have an iPod docking station, one can still listen to music from their iPod or MP3 player via its aux-in port. There is no auxiliary cable included, so you will have to purchase that separately. The unit also comes with an audio-out jack for connecting a pair of headphones or for connecting it to a hi-fi set.
Other features on the Classic include four station preset buttons, alarm clock with snooze function, and Sleep.
Overall, the Oxx Digital Classic DAB+ is a must have for those who want a box that has digital radio, Internet radio, music streaming, and MP3 connectivity. It is available now for $299.
