Last month we were being told that plasma TVs sucked up too much power. Well now there is a balance to the problem — wooden flat panel TVs that are Full HD.
Greenies and Eco friendly consumers will now be able to order online TVs called “Tree-Vs” that are built entirely from wood from sustainable forests – apart from the electronics – and are being billed as a must-have recyclable item for ethical consumers.
Swedx, the Swedish manufacturer say that the flat screen Tree-Vs, which will sell for around $995 are available in three “woods”: ash, sapele and beech.
Available in sizesup to 46 inches, the TVs come with two HDMI ports and Full HD. Also standard are 6000 to 1 contrast ratios and 8Ms response time. The screens also have Picture in Picture and 24 billion colours.
The company claims that consumers are tired of everything in plastic and want to return to a genuine material such as wood.
Several countries are selling their product and the company is now looking for a distributor in Australia.
