A new dual screen notebook is set to be launched in Australia by Xmas. The device made by Alaskan Company gScreen will have two 15.4 inch LED backlight screens which have been described as ideal for gaming and professionals who want two screens.
The two screens slide away to the size of a single screen for easy transportation. Initially the product will only be sold on the Amazon web site with the Company confirming to SmartHouse that Australians will be able to buy the notebook from Q4 2009.
We are also aware of two distributors who want to market the device in Australia particularly to Government and Corporate markets.
Called the Spacebook the new notebook will run Windows 7. It has Intel Core 2 Duo P8400 2.26-GHz, 4 GB of RAM (2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM x 2 320GB 7200-rpm HD
The notebook also has NVIDIA GeForce 9800M GT with 512MB dedicated memory (or) NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700M Graphics with 512MB dedicated memory and a 9-cell battery. It also runs HDMI input.

Gordon Stewart, the founder of gScreen said that the dual-screen laptop is aimed at professional video editors, photographers and designers who need to flick between different applications to carry out their work.
The device is expected to sell at around A$3,600.
