As tipped by SmartHouse, Panasonic Australia has announced a 16.05-megapixel Lumix camera that that is the world’s fastest Micro Four Thirds auto focusing camera. It also has Full HD video recording and touch control.

According to Panasonic, the new Lumix DMC-GH2 offers a level Light Speed AF of approximately 0.1 second. The key components including the sensor and the image processing engine have been improved, with the camera now having a 16.05-megapixel multi-aspect Live MOS Sensor, high speed burst shooting of up to 40 frames per second, and Full HD movie recording in 50i.
The unit also comes with touch-control shooting first available for the G2, allowing users to change the focus area with a single touch of a button. The company also said that the new GH2 will be compatible with its upcoming interchangeable 3D lens.
Panasonic Australia’s Product Marketing Manager for Lumix, Richard Phillips said, “The LUMIX DMC-GH2 realises all the latest innovations of the G Series and adds exciting new functionality – such as Light Speed AF and 3D lens compatibility, to offer outstanding performance, ease of use and creativity.”
The DMC-GH2 will be available in Black or Silver in mid-November, pricing will be announced closer to launch date.
