The premium smartphone has a glossy glass back will be priced around the “low $500’s”, and available in the next few months, in Q3, Huawei Head of Products, Jephix Liu, told CN. Unlike the Ascend G6, which is sold via Optus and Vodafone, the phone wont be sold at either telco, meaning it could be headed for Telstra.
This means P7 will be far cheaper than better known brands like Apple iPhone 5S and Samsung Galaxy S5.
The Chinese brand is also building up the camera specs on the new Ascend – 8mp Blue Glass infrared sensor front camera and 13mp at the rear. There’s also a button that lets you switch back to 3G if you want to save power. It runs Android KitKat 4.4

The entry level Ascend G6 which recently went on sale – its first post-paid phone in Australia – is “selling in line with expectations,” Liu said.
Huawei, still relatively unknown in the consumer market, is looking to make headway in the phone market. It is now among the top 5 smartphone makers globally.
