Xbox Live Gold membership will be free for everyone during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) from May 8 – 14, Microsoft announced today.
“It’s better than going to E3, because you also get a non-stop, week-long party on Xbox Live, with great content and round-the-clock events,” the company said.
During the E3 week, Xbox 360 fans will be able to access E3 content, including the first-ever Gears of War high-definition game trailer on Xbox Live Marketplace, the playable demo of Capcom’s Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, and Game with Fame multiplayer sessions live from the floor. Over 60 pieces of new downloadable content will be available during this week.
Fans will also receive a ‘backstage pass’ to access daily show updates and see behind-the-scenes videos of developers preparing for E3.
Other E3 week events for Xbox Live Gold members will include access to high-definition movie trailers, play-and-win competitions, and limited edition E3 gamer pictures and themes.
