A range of power amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers and monitors sold by Yamaha over the last year have been listed for recall due to suspected incorrect wiring.The Yamaha models were sold across Australia (excluding Tasmania) from October 12 last year up until the June 22 this year, but customers are now being urged by the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission to “immediately stop using the product and contact Yamaha to have the mains plug tested by an approved technician, and rewired if faulty.”
The ACCC lists hazards with the potential to “cause serious injury or death to the user through electrocution.
The specific models include the following:
Powered Amplifiers – P2500S, P3500S, P5000SJ, P7000S
Powered Speakers – DSR112, DSR115
Powered Subwoofer – DSR118
Compact Speaker – MS101III
DTX Monitor System – MS50DR, MS100DR
