Popular porn website Brazzers has been hit by a cyber attack that has exposed over 800,000 user names and details to public scrutiny. The data was stolen in 2013 but has only now been released online.
Security researchers told Motherboard that the hack was made possible through the site’s use of vBulletin to power its user forum.
Brazzers shared login details across its forum and main site, which meant that hackers gained access to both.
“Worse than just adult website creds, this is what people were talking and fantasising about,” a security researcher said.
The news echoes last year’s Ashley Maddison data breach, when 25 gigabytes of user data was publicly released.
In the wake of the cyber-attack, Brazzers has told press that the issues that made the hack possible in 2013 have since been addressed and that steps have been taken to prevent user logins being accessed.
