In addition to having a 35x Optical Zoom (24mm-840mm), the PowerShot SX30 also has a 24mm wide-angle lens, an improved Optical Image Stabilizer, as well as a Zoom Framing Assist feature that helps locates a subject. Other features include HD video recording, Dynamic IS mode which reduces camera shake while shooting movies, Scene Detection, and miniature effect mode.
The SX30 IS has Canon’s TruCapture technology which combines three Canon proprietary technologies – Optical Image Stabilizers; a DiG!C 4 Image Processor; and Intelligent Auto.
Canon Australia’s Brand Manager – DSC, Danielle Hinton said, “The 35x zoom will allow users to get closer to their subject than they ever thought possible and we guarantee they’ll be blown away by the detail they can capture. Some of the other stand-out features on the PowerShot SX30 IS include improved Optical Image Stabilizer, advanced movie capability with miniature effect, a new vari-angle screen and of course the stunning image quality that Canon cameras are renowned for.”
The PowerShot SX30 IS (RRP $TBC) will be available from October 2010 through Canon dealers nationally.
