Sony’s Playstation 3 has been upgraded to support stereoscopic 3D games. A bug that restricted players in certain regions, including Australia, from playing certain 3D Blu-ray discs has also been fixed.
The 3.30 update to the PS3 firmware allows gamers to play the next generation of stereoscopic 3D games, which will start to become available over the coming months and will complement the launch of Sony’s new range of 3D TVs.
The firmware also updates the version of Flash used in the PS3’s web browser, which should make viewing sites such as YouTube less frustrating.
New features include PC Remote Play, that will allow PS3s to be remotely operated by upcoming models of Sony Vaio computers, BD Audio Output, and the ability to sort trophies into folders or by game title or date achieved.
Sony has also fixed a bug relating to the playing of some region-free Blu-ray discs.
