As Samsung gets set to release a brand new mini SLR type camera at the 2010 CES Show in Las Vegas, insiders are also tipping a new Samsung CL80 Wi Fi camera with a 31 mm lens and 7X optical zoom.

The new products are part of an assault by Samsung on the Australian digital camera market, with the company set to target both Sony and Panasonic with its Lumix range.
The new SLR-type camera is mirrorless and has its own brand new range of removable lenses.
The new CL80 and the new SLR cameras have the ability to record video in 720p. the CL80 can record files in H.264 format and shoot at 30 fps. New Wi Fi capabilities will allow consumers to easily upload video directly YouTube or a Wi Fi-enabled TV.
Another key feature is a 14-megapixel sensor and a large 3.7-inch touchscreen on the back of the camera. It also includes an optical image stabilization, 720p HD video recording (in H.264), and 7x optical zoom.

Samsung Australia, which has struggled to capture share in the top end of the digital camera market, believes that it now has the product range to be competitive.
