New Sony Digital Camera Follows Chat With Consumers

Sony has launched a new range of Cybershot Digital camera’s following extensive research among Australian consumers.

Following extensive consumer research Sony has launched a new range of Cyber-shot digital still cameras which are easy to use and deliver powerfull image resolution.

In an effort to better understand consumer needs Sony Australia conducted several research discussion groups with consumers late last year  which found that the most important thing that they wanted in a camera was ease of use.

“They want an easy to use, stylish device with technology built in to enhance the prosess of capturing images and that is what we have delivered” said Cyber-shot product manager, Ervin Quek.

Key new features of the new Sony Compact camera’s include a simple to use Graphic User Interface (GUI) – or menu system, improved picture quality and large viewing screen.

The new improved GUI makes it easier for you to navigate your way around, allowing you to choose from still photography or movie mode.

A Function Guide in the GUI explains the numerous options displayed on the camera’s click wheel. As you click from function to function, you immediately see what it does and when it’s best used.

Sony has adapted its BIONZ advanced image processor for some of the new Cyber-shot cameras. BIONZ enhances processing speed, automatically optimises exposure and contrast settings and exposes pictures according to conditions.
 
Working with the BIONZ image processor, the camera uses its unique Face Recognition technology to detect up to eight faces within the frame. Giving the people in the picture top priority, this feature automatically achieves the right focus, exposure, zoom, white balance and flash control.  common problem with most digital cameras is blurry photos caused by low light or handshake at the moment of exposure. Sony’s Double Anti-Blur system onboard the T and high-end W Series cameras combine its High Sensitivity Mode (which automatically compensates for moving objects or low light) and Super Steady Shot (which uses Sony’s Optimal Image Stabliser) to correct these problems and capture in-focus and brilliant images.

 
In the G Series Cyber-shots, key new features previously not available in any of the Cyber-shot cameras include wireless connectivity, internal photo album, MP3 playback capability, advanced ease-of-use Home menu, and 2GB internal memory. The DSCG1 incorporates 6 mega pixels, Carl Ziess Vario-Tessar lens and 3x Optical Zoom.

The simple point and shoot S series cameras have 7.2 mega pixels.

Starting from $249 for the DSCS650 which includes 7.2 mega pixels, the Cyber-shots range up $999 for the DSCG1 which has 2GB internal memory.
