First their share price gets hammered, then Greenpeace downgrade Apple in its 18th annual Guide to Green Electronics.The big downgrade for Apple to sixth spot has been blamed on a “lack of transparency,” toxic chemical use namely “GHG [greenhouse gas] emission issues and post-consumer recycled plastic use.”
Greenpeace claims that they have taken Apple to task for several other problems that the Company is refusing to address.
“Apple receives half marks in Sustainable Operations. Apple does not score high on the e-waste criteria, losing points for lacking a robust take-back programme in India,” Greenpeace writes.
