JBL has recently unveiled an integrated home theatre system that includes a DVD/receiver, a 5.1-channel loudspeaker package, a unified system remote control and a pair of matching speaker stands: the CSP630.

The DVD/receiver in the JBL CSP630 is a full-function audio/video-system control centre that combines a 5.1-channel receiver section with a progressive-scan DVD-Audio/Video player. The DVD/receiver includes an HDMI output and built-in video processing that upconverts DVDs to 720p or 1080i video output. The company also mentioned that its DVD/receiver incorporates advanced digital-video technologies, such as an integrated digital-signal processor that employs pixel-by-pixel video processing, in order to provide exceptional image clarity and colour accuracy.
The CSP630 system employs a digital-amplifier section with 5 x 35 watts power output, is compatible with popular surround sound formats, and can play back a wide variety of disc types including DVD-Video, DVD Audio, DivX-encoded, Windows Media Audio (WMA) and MP3 discs. The CSP630 also offers numerous features such as an FM/RDS tuner, a built-in video test screen, a headphone jack for private listening, and a full-function system remote control.
The CSP630 5.1-channel system features four wall-mountable satellite speakers, a wall-mountable centre channel speaker, a subwoofer, and cables. The satellites and centre channel are supplied with swivel- and fixed wall-mount brackets, and can be wall, shelf, or stand-mounted. The satellites and centre channel are also compatible with popular mounting hardware from third-party manufacturers. The satellites and the centre channel in the CSP630 incorporates a 19mm (3/4-inch) tweeter and dual high-output 89mm (3-1/2-inch) woofers, while its subwoofer features a 200mm (8-inch) woofer and 125-watt amplifier.
One pair of matching JBL CS Speaker Stands is included for use with either the front or rear speakers. These stands are also available separately for $239.
The JBL Cinema Sound Powered system, the CSP630 has a suggested retail price of $1,999.
