In a company first, Samsung Electronics Australia has embarked on a global gaming development tour with Australian e-sports team, Legacy E-Sports, in Seoul, South Korea.
Samsung hosted the team’s local League of Legends team for an immersion day with one of the elites of the industry, Gen.G, at their Seoul Headquarters.
The tour gave Legacy E-Sports the opportunity to gain insights into Gen.G’s training programs, meet with a multi-title-winning Gen.G League of Legends e-sports team, and participate in a workshop discussion with Gen.G management and coaching staff.
“E-sports is an incredibly exciting and dynamic area of competitive sport that is growing exponentially, both in Australia and globally,” said Matt Nelson, head of memory and storage, Samsung Electronics Australia.
“As a brand, we are constantly exploring ways to enhance the lives of our customers through amazing products and experiences.”
“This development tour has broken new ground for how we continue to support Legacy E-Sports, as well as the wider gaming community in Australia through sharing the experience.”
In addition, Legacy E-Sports also had the chance to compete with the Gen.G League of Legends Academy team at one of their training facilities.

The development tour builds on Samsung Australia’s ongoing partnership with Legacy E-Sports, as its exclusive monitor and memory partner.
Legacy E-Sports is powered by Samsung’s NVMe SSDs (same as Gen.G), as well as with Samsung’s high-performance curved gaming monitors.
Established in 2014, the Adelaide Football Club acquired the team in 2017, providing the team with access to elite facilities and programs, including a purpose-built E-Sports High Performance Centre developed in conjunction with Samsung Australia.
The team currently participates across six different titles, including Fortnite, Overwatch, StarCraft II and League of Legends.
