Motorola has taken on Samsung’s mid-tier Galaxy A9 and unveiled its ‘One Zoom’ at IFA 2019 – its first phone to feature a rear quad-camera system.
Parent company, Lenovo, is yet to confirm Australian availability and pricing, however, the device will launch internationally this month from US$450.
The release prefaces the hotly anticipated launch of the Motorola Razr 2019 foldable phone, inspired by its iconic flip phone.
The Motorola One Zoom’s rear quad-camera system features a 48MP main camera sensor with an ultra-wide angle sensor, 8MP telephoto sensor and 5MP depth sensor.
The rear-camera set-up complements a 25MP front facing ‘selfie’ camera, which also supports quad pixel shots.
The handset also offers a custom ‘Night Mode’, and is powered by Snapdragon 675 CPU, alongside a 4,000 mAh battery.
With an OLED display screen, the device further ramps up competition in the intensifying mid-tier market, dominated by the likes of Huawei.
The news follows the Australian release of Motorola’s new One Vision, which some commentators claim will help spearhead the brand’s image overhaul locally.
