Customers of Australian telco, amaysim, who also have access to an Amazon Alexa enabled device, will soon be able to call upon the digital assistant to answer several account queries.
Users may ask Alexa to top up/pay for increased data, check their account balance, locate their phone, plus more.
amaysim claims it is one of the first official partners in Australia to launch custom Alexa skills.
amaysim Chief Executive, Julian Ogrin, informed iTWire that Alexa’s local launch will change the way people interact, enabling the company to better serve their customers:
“We’re excited to be part of the launch of Amazon Alexa in Australia. Technologies like this help us to deliver greater convenience and a richer experience for our customers”
“This kind of innovation is changing the way people interact and do things, and at Amaysim, we are always looking for new ways to delight our customers”.
The telco states Alexa’s new custom skills will make “account management easier than ever before”.
amaysim’s Innovation Product Manager, Tariq Hassanen, predicts such “conversational interfaces” will become “ubiquitous” in local homes within the next two to three years.
The company reportedly developed its custom Alexa voice skills in partnership with DiUS.
