Apple to open its 20th store in OZ
South Australia is to get the Apple treatment.
The $2.5m development will be 20th Apple Store location in OZ, at 77 Rundle Mall, Rundle Place, Adelaide, which is having its grand opening this Saturday May 25 at 10 am.
In the past 12 months, Apple has also opened stores in Perth and Canberra, bringing to 20 the total number of stores here.
The Apple Store, Rundle Place will hold free workshops, and let consumers make reservations at the Genius Bar; One to One training and meet Apple’s Business Team.
Consumers in Adelaide will be swamped by choice of where to buy Apple goodies.
Dedicated Apple reseller Next Byte already have a presence at the Rundle Mall which opened its doors earlier this year, as does as does JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith, Harvey Norman. David Jones and Myer are also based in the new shopping development.
To help lure the punters in Apple is giving the Store’s first 1,000 customers a commemorative T-shirt at its grand opening.
The store will open from 9-7 Monday-Thursday and 9-9 on Friday and at weekends.
Apple Stores generate sales of more than $35 million per store, “in stark contrast to Dick Smith, which has sales per store of $3-$5 million,” a Citi report showed.
Discounter JB Hi-Fi may also be particularly at risk from Apple Stores, warns Citi analyst Craig Woolford, since 20% of its sales are Apple products.
