ASUS has announced local availability for the company’s latest top-of-the-line gaming laptops, the Republic of Gamers-branded G800 and G701.
Similar in design, this pair of heavy-duty and VR-ready gaming laptops promise a best-in-class experience – even if it’s one that’s far from affordable.
The ROG G701 features a 120Hz FHD display with wide-view-angle technology and NVIDIA’s own G-SYNC tech, allowing it to push for the highest amount of frames per second in the latest titles without issue. Spec-wise, it’s packing an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphic card, powered by the latest unlocked 7th Gen Intel Core i7-7820HK processor, 32GB of DDR4 RAM and two 256GB PCIE Gen3 x4 NVME M.2 SSDs.
The ROG GX800 pushes this premium pedigree even further. It bumps the FHD display to a 4K UHD one and throws in a second GTX 1080 and 32GB of RAM (bringing the total to 64GB). It also swaps out the G701’s pair of SSDs for a trio of 512GB drives.
It even comes with its own integrated liquid cooling system.
ASUS say that a “ROG-proprietary connection between the Hydro Overclocking System and the GX800 unit ensures coolant flows smoothly, without leaking. The coolant is pumped and circulated around the processor and graphics card, before it returns to the cooling module where two radiators help dissipate the heat. To cope with these demands, GX800 has two 330W power adapters.”
Gaming laptops don’t get much beefier than this. However, these specs do come with a price-tag to match them.
The ROG G701 is available now in Australia from the ASUS Shop and select channel partners for $4,999.
Meanwhile, the ROG GX800 is only available from ASUS directly at a price of $9,999.
