Oh G, its all gone a bit Pete Tong: 20 injured in LG promo for new G2 smartphone
The unfortunate incident occurred late last week in Seoul, when LG released balloons into the air with coupons for a free G2 smartphone inside, called “G IN THE CLOUD,” reports Korea Times.
However, locals in the in a park in northern Seoul were so eager to get their hands on the freebie phone, they took to shooting the floating balloons down with BB guns, leading to 20 onlookers sustaining injuries.

Some were also hospitalised after LG organisers failed to keep the crowd under control.
LG has now confirmed it wont be pulling the same phones in clouds stunt in other cities in its native Korea.
“We cancelled events offering free G2 smartphones that had been scheduled in major cities nationwide, including Busan, due to safety concerns,” the company confirmed.
The G2 Android phone sell for 950,000 won, equivalent to A$930.
G2 was announced last week will be sold in Oz from Optus only.
