Rumours are circulating that Apple may be working on a foldable version of its iPad tablet.
The rumours stem from comments made by information provider IHS Markit’s research and analysis associate director for the tablet market Jeff Lin.
Mr Lin, citing supply chain sources, told China’s Economic Daily News the rumoured device would support 5G and have a similar screen size as a Macbook.
He said Apple’s device would go up against a new dual-screen Microsoft Surface the company recently showed off to its employees, according to The Verge.
Even as far as technology rumours go this one is pretty speculative given Apple is yet to release a 5G or folding iPhone (though it has filed patents for one), but Mr Lin said the folding iPad could launch as soon as next year.
