The next major update for Google’s Android mobile OS has been tipped for an August rollout.
What’s more, according to managing editor of Android Police David Ruddock, Android 8.0 will become available to Google Pixel owners ahead of everyone else.
The official OTA to Android O for Pixel will likely drop in the first week or two of August. A bit earlier than Nexuses / Nougat last year.

Citing sources, he claims it’ll land in the first two weeks of August this year.
Android O has yet to be given an official sweet-themed designation. However, it has been in the hands of developers for less than a month.
The big changes it’ll bring to the Android experience include a new picture-in-picture mode and new notification dots.
It’s also understood that Android O will bring a number of under-the-hood improvements that will see devices boot faster, load apps quicker and operate in a way that’s more secure than previous releases.
The last version of Android, Nougat, launched back in August of 2016.
