Despite uncertainty over the future operation of its devices, Huawei has launched two new “Honor” smartphones.

The Chinese technology giant virtually shrugged off the decision by Google not to service Android OS and apps on Huawei’s newest phones and unveiled the Honor 20 and 20 Pro.

Research firm IDC said Honor had been a successful model for Huawei, with an appeal that went beyond the young customer they were targeting.

In the US the Honor 20 Pro will cost US$669 while the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Lite, will retail at $556 and $334 dollars respectively.

Huawei said the smartphones had already been certified by Google before it announced any restrictions, which means they should be able to run the full suite of Android apps.
