Melbourne-based distributor Indi Imports is shaking up the wireless sound game, bringing Chinese company iEast’s Sound Streamer and AM160 to local audiophiles.
Indi say that with “Hi Definition Streaming and full App Control this system takes on its competitors at half the price.”
A significant improvement on Sonos, iEast promises to “turn any pair of speakers to a wireless HiFi multi-room audio system.”
An Indi spokesperson told ChannelNews that the devices are “over 40% cheaper than Sonos Connect Amp and or Connect.”
They say that the range is due to expand with speakers capable of playing High Res and FLAC-quality content.
“Stock is flowing through, we have tested these units and pushed their limit with no issues at all to 32 zones of audio for commercial applications or residential,” they said.
It’s a package that’s sure to take further ground from the once-mighty Sonos, who have in recent years failed to bring their products in line with the standards of what modern audio can offer.
The iEAST Sound Streamer M20 Pro comes in at an RRP of $249 while the AM160 Powered Zone arrives at an RRP of $449.00
