LG Electronics has announced that it’s first ever OLED gaming monitor has arrived on Aussie shelves.
The UltraGear 48-inch UHD 4K OLED (48GQ900-B) is the first gaming monitor the company has released to feature its OLED technology, taking on the likes of existing monitors by Samsung and Alienware.

The new monitor features LG’s self-lit pixel technology that toggles between on and off to create perfect blacks without any light bleed, for next level immersive visuals.
Combined with a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio with realistic colour delivered via LG Calibration studio, users can expect ultra-rich, ultra-realistic colour, all without the distraction of glare thanks to LG anti-glare and low reflection technology.
LG have paired the lifelike, detailed and immersive visuals of its new OLED monitor with high refresh rates and rapid response times, ensuring smooth, fluid gameplay that keeps users at the cutting edge.
The UltraGear 4K OLED sports VRR (variable refresh rate) support up to 120Hz, which can be boosted up to 138Hz with overclocking, ensuring fast, sleek and smooth visuals and preventing screen tearing.
There is also support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD Free Sync Premium, keeping the picture fluid when frame rates jump too high, such as in less demanding titles.
In addition, the new monitor sports a miniscule 0.1ms GtG response time, removing image ghosting for crisper imagery and delivering rapid gameplay.
LG’s debut OLED monitor features the company’s award-winning graphical UI, allowing users to tailor the experience to their liking.
Via the OnScreen Display and OnScreen Control panel, users are able to quickly activate features such as Black Stabilizer Mode, which improves brightness in games with dark, such as where there may be hidden loot or when cutscenes may be hard to see.
Dynamic Action Sync Mode improves the speed in which visuals appear, giving users the edge over their opponents by allowing them to see what’s happening without the delay of internal frame processing, ideal for competitive games such as first-person shooters.
Further bolstering the first-person shooter experience is the on-board Frames Per Second (FPS) counter, as well as the Crosshair feature which gives users extra aiming accuracy.
Audio is delivered via a pair of 20W stereo speakers that deliver virtual 3D sound, whilst the included UltraGear Remote Control allows users to adjust settings easily without fumbling with the monitor itself.
The LG UltraGear 48-inch UHD 4K OLED gaming monitor is now available for $2,599 at Harvey Norman.
