Phone maker Nothing, has rolled out a new software update for its Phone (2a), that delivers a big camera improvement, fixes bugs and delivers , and new features.
The Nothing OS 2.5.6 adds a ‘Hide Navigation Bar’ feature, which can be found via Settings > System > Gestures > Navigation Mode > Gesture Navigation Settings > Hide Navigation Bar.
Long-pressing a widget will now provide the user with more options, and there’s been an added option that will allow the user to disable/enable vibrations for other calls and notifications while they are on a call.
For improvements, the security patch has been updated to May 2024, and the camera auto HDR detection logic has been optimised.
Additionally, certain compatibility issues with Android Auto have been fixed, and the issue where the screen doesn’t automatically turn on after using the Power Button to turn it off has been fixed.
Issues with ChatGPT have been resolved, as well as the issue where the notification panel narrows when receiving certain notifications.
Finally, the overall stability of the system has been optimised.
The update has already started rolling out to Nothing Phone (2a) users around the world.
Those who have yet to receive it can check manually by going to Settings > System > System Update.
The Nothing Phone (2a) will also reportedly be getting a new colour option soon. Last month, the company released a blue colour option, and there are plans for a community edition design to be released in July. It’s unknown when the blue colour will arrive in Australia.
This device can be purchased from the official Nothing website for A$529 for the 8GB / 128GB version. The 12GB / 256GB version costs an added A$70. It’s available in Black and Milk colours.
