PC and laptop maker Lenovo has confirmed that several of its Yoga laptops are refusing to install Linux-based operating systems, including the popular Ubuntu. The Chinese company said the issue was caused by the switch to a new storage system that reads and records data faster than normal.
The company has denied it had an agreement with Microsoft to block Linux.
The restriction affects PCs sold with the signature edition of Windows 10.
This junks software not pre-installed along with the OS to avoid slowing down its operation.
Lenovo said the problem only affects Linux operating systems with out-dated codes and once the codes were updated they should work on their laptops.
