Skyfall, The Hobbit: Optus look to put bums on seats (and lure customers to its network), by offering cheap movie tickets
Optus and cinema giant Hoyts announced a new partnership offering $10 movie tickets to all Optus customers through its improved Movie Rewards program.
Optus customers now have access to a broader network of cinemas with 50 more locations than before including all Hoyts Cinemas and some independent cinemas in regional and metropolitan areas – 130 in all.
From 12 November, all Optus customers can purchase Hoyts vouchers for just $10 each through the Movie Rewards website.
Optus customers can now give their movie vouchers for friends and family as gifts if they wish. Hoyts La Premiere vouchers will also be available for $20.

The announcment comes just in time for a bumper movie season head, spearheaded by Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2, James Bond in Skyfall, The Hobbit Part 1, and great family titles like Rise of the Guardians and Wreck it Ralph.
Almost one million Optus customers have visited cinemas used the cheap tickets on the Movie Rewards program to date.
“We have a renewed focus on our customers and one of the best ways to thank them for their loyalty is through our Optus Movie Rewards program.
“This new partnership is a direct response to customers who requested more cinemas in more locations all over the country to take advantage of $10 movie tickets,” Vicki Brady, Managing Director, Customer, Optus.
Optus recorded a loss in its prepaid mobile base of 65,000 customers, and has a totalbase to 9.51 million, according to its last set of financials.
