Panasonic has boost the performance of its LUMIX camera line-up, by unveiling a new firmware update for “key” G Series cameras and the new LUMIX S1R and S1 full-frame models.
The firmware will be available to download on the LUMIX Global Customer Support website (here) at 11:00am AEST on July 9, 2019.
The update will affect the LUMIX S1R, S1, GH5, GH5S, G9, G95, G85 and GX9.
On launch, the S Series offered Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabilisation) at 6 stops – the upgrade will debut an additional half stop for 6.5 stops of image stabilisation.
“We’ve also introduced an innovative new function to improve the photographer’s control over AF – AF-On Near Shift and AF-ON Far Shift,” remarks Scott Mellish, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Imaging, Panasonic.
“Assignable to a function button, this capability allows the user to confidently guide AF by refocusing on a subject closer or further away than the camera’s current AF position.”
Below is summary of the firmware updates, with further information available on Panasonic’s website here.
