Other features include a 3x wide-zoom (28 – 85 mm equivalent), a ‘high-capacity’ flash which Ricoh claims has a luminosity range of 10 metres for wide-angle images and 6.5 metres in telephoto mode, and an anti-blur mode to enable the camera to shoot at faster shutter speeds. A camera ‘memo’ function allows you to attach location information to photographic data.
Ricoh says this camera’s 1.2 second start-up time and 0.10 second focus and shoot time means it is specifically designed to capture all the high-speed action of outdoor adventures.
The camera comes with a lithium-ion battery and is also compatible with AA batteries and an AC adapter. The camera also offers PictBridge (to print pictures directly from the camera without needing a PC).
The Caplio 500G will be available from August this year.
