Sonus faber has unveiled its new entry-level line Principia collection, comprising five passive loudspeakers – two bookshelf, two floorstanding and one centre channel speaker.Sonus states the collection is “designed for those who are seeking a simple hi-fi solution but with a definite Italian touch at an affordable price – all without giving up on perfect music reproduction”.
“In both its shape and name, Principia embodies the idea of a beginning, a foundation, a primary element: plain and essential lines, like the ones that define the speaker’s design, and a name that stands for one’s starting point and entry in the high-end world,” Sonus states.
Sonus states the collection shares many similarities with its Chameleon collection, sporting both aluminium
finishes and trapezoidal shape.
While Chameleon has exchangeable coloured side panels and leather coverings, Principia sports “a flawless black vinyl veneer surface”.
A 29 mm high-definition pre-coated fabric dome tweeter with DKM membrane has been inherited from the Chameleon collection, with the other drivers new Sonus designs, unique to Principia.
“Principia collection is a great solution for many different listening needs, meeting the requirements of stereo as well as multichannel home theatre systems in both small and large rooms,” Sonus states.
The Principia collection will debut in Europe and Asia and then in the US, beginning in June.
