Uniden has unveiled the iGO Play 10+, a new 10.26-inch portable touchscreen designed to give any vehicle—old or new—the benefits of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The device aims to offer drivers a safer and more connected experience on the road, without requiring an integrated infotainment system.
The iGO Play 10+ supports wireless connectivity and features full voice-command functionality, allowing drivers to send and receive messages, make hands-free calls, stream music and access navigation apps without taking their hands off the wheel. Uniden says the interface is designed for simplicity, integrating seamlessly into a wide range of car interiors.
The unit comes with an AUX cable for drivers whose vehicles do not support Bluetooth connectivity, ensuring the touchscreen can connect directly to car speakers when needed.
Navigation is a key focus, with compatibility across Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and other apps. Users can access real-time traffic updates, smart routing and voice-controlled directions through the touchscreen. Entertainment is also streamlined, with support for music and podcast streaming.
The device further enhances road safety with a fully voice-operated messaging system, allowing drivers to read, reply and send messages hands-free. In addition, users can browse contacts, check their calendar or join online meetings using voice commands.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities ensure the system connects automatically each time the user enters the vehicle.
The Uniden iGO Play 10+ is available now at major Australian retailers and through the company’s website, with a recommended retail price of $249.95.
