Warner Bros’ paranormal first person shooter series has just been reforged by a new development studio with the release of F.E.A.R. 3.Or F.3.A.R. if you can work out a way of pronouncing that.
The fear-inducing sequel has just been released on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but to find out if it’s a horror masterpiece or just horrific, read the review here.
Warner Bros. injected its cinematic appeal into the original F.E.A.R. titles that featured claustrophobic corridor shocks, dimly lit passages and tight gameplay that threw the package together.
They’ve taken a slightly different approach to this most recent addition to the series though, hiring Day 1 studios over the creators of the original games, Monolith.
The result has been a shift of form, with a somewhat altered art direction and a new take on the gameplay, including a new take on co-operative play.
