Winnings websales growing twice as fast as instore
Winnings group, owners of Big Brown Box and Appliance Online grew 25 percent overall, but online outstripped brick and mortar, hitting over $150 m sales for year end June 30, a rise of 35%.
This compared to 17 percent for Winning Appliances retail stores, which reported $150 million sales.
Winnings started out as a bricks and mortar-only operation but has proved a formidable leader in etailing locally, offering next day delivery, backed by a slew of showrooms in metro areas.
John Winning, CEO of the Winning Group said the figures highlight growing market share, “especially within the online space”, offering a stiff word of warning to retailers.
“The debate between online versus offline is over – Australian retailers must perfect their business formula across all platforms to earn the trust and repeat business from savvy shoppers.”
The results also mark a significant milestone for Winnings century old business, which experienced its biggest year on record with sales from the nine showrooms exceeding $150m.
