According to the latest data from the Android Developers Dashboard, the latest major of Google’s mobile OS, Android Nougat, now accounts for over 10% of total Android devices.
It marks another strong month of growth for Nougat, which accounted for 11.5% of total Android devices as of the start of July.
Last month saw Nougat finally overtake Jelly Bean in popularity. The gap between the two continued to grow this month, with Jelly Bean’s share declining 0.7%.
While there’s still a sizable gap between it and Android heavy-hitters Lollipop, and Marshmallow, Kit Kat looks to be next on the menu. It slipped a whole percentage point on the previous month.
Both Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich also slipped 0.1%, each while Marshmallow actually increased its share from 31.2% to 31.8%.
Expect these trend to develop as we move into the second half of the year and Google moves to launch Android O into the market.
