Google is flexing their muscles again in the Australian market with the launch of a new mapping service that will further irrate Sensis and their Go Search service.
Sick of constantly having to look up directions to your favourite location? Well, you only have to do it once and add it to Google’s new My Maps and it will be there for you – and whomever you choose – ready to use.
If you wish, why not add a picture to the location for easy identification?
With My Maps you can:
· Mark locations on a map from a library of icons
· Draw lines and shapes to highlight paths and areas
· Add text, photos, or YouTube/Google Videos to a map
· Add HTML for further personalisation
· View your maps in Google Earth
If you choose to unlist your map you can still share it with family and friends via email.
Public maps are accessible through Google Maps search along with maps shared by other web sites in the KML format.
If you choose, you can also store maps when you are signed into your Google Account.
