In an effort to resolve their ongoing patent dispute with Samsung, Apple offered the Korean company a deal whereby Apple would net $40 on every Samsung Galaxy Tablet and $30 on every mobile phone sold. The offer which was made in 2010 was rejected by Samsung a US court has heard.
The document states that Apple would receive $30 for every Android, Bada or Windows Phone and $40 for each touchscreen tablet it shifted. Apple claimed this was a 20% discount on their normal patent licensing terms.
A condition of the deal was that Samsung had to agree to cross licence some of its patents back to the iPad manufacturer.
The offer if taken up would have cost Samsung $250 Million.
