Amazon has introduced a new thinner and lighter Kindle, decked out with a number of new features.Sporting a more rounded design, “making it easy and comfortable to hold in one hand at any angle for extended reading sessions”, Amazon states that the price remains the same, with the new Kindle priced at $109.
Among its new features, the new Kindle comes with Export Notes, making it “easy to export notes and highlights from a book to your email”, receiving notes both as a printable PDF and as a simple file that can be opened in a spreadsheet app, with Amazon stating that this feature will be available as part of a free over-the-air software update in the coming weeks.
Amazon states that it is the first Kindle with built-in Bluetooth audio support, providing for visually impaired users to use the VoiceView screen reader to read the content of the screen, including reading books and

other Kindle content, without the need for an adaptor.
“This is enabled through a new out-of-box experience specifically for visually impaired customers that allows them to pair their Kindle with Bluetooth headphones or a speaker,” Amazon states.
The new Kindle also comes with an updated interface and navigation, making “it even easier to discover your next favourite book, manage Wish Lists and see recommendations from friends via Goodreads”.

Available for pre-order in black from Amazon, the new Kindle will be available in both black and white at Officeworks stores in the coming weeks.
