Following its innovation in the robotic vacuum realm, Ecovacs has debuted its first window cleaning robot at CES 2018 in Las Vegas.
The company claims the new ‘Winbot X’ makes “window cleaning easier than ever before”, and has nabbed itself a 2018 ‘CES Innovation Award Honouree’.
The device is cordless, and moves freely across a window, regardless of whether it has a frame.
Ecovacs affirms that the Winbot X automatically determines the best cleaning path to take, whilst utilising a “multi-stage cleaning process”. Its “Deep Clean” mode ensures surfaces are cleaned twice, whilst its “Advanced Fan technology” and “edge detection technology” maintains adequate cleanliness.
The Winbot X is programmed to finish ‘where it starts’.
Incorporating a “Safe Tether System” the device claims to remain safe even if detachment occurs, by sounding a warning and causing the tether to retract. The device is thereby protected in both indoor and outdoor cleaning.
The product extends Ecovacs home cleaning portfolio, which includes the recent Australian launch of its DEEBOT OZMO 930 and DEEBOT OZMO 610 robo vacuums – which boast a mopping feature, too.
Ecovacs’ Winbot X is scheduled to launch in Australia in mid-2018, with pricing yet to be confirmed.
