JBL has revealed a broad refresh of its headphone portfolio at CES 2026, with a strong focus on open-ear listening. The company announced five new open-ear models spread across several product families, reflecting growing demand for headphones that balance audio performance with environmental awareness.
Open-ear designs have surged in popularity in recent years, largely because they do not block the ear canal. Instead, they rely on air-conduction technology to deliver sound while allowing wearers to hear what is happening around them. This makes them particularly appealing for exercise, commuting and everyday use.
At the forefront of JBL’s announcement is the JBL Endurance Zone, the brand’s first open-ear headphone built specifically for sport. Designed for training and high-movement activities, the Endurance Zone uses JBL OpenSound technology alongside a flexible ear-hook made with memory wire for a stable fit. With an IP68 rating, the headphones are built to handle sweat, dust and water exposure, while still delivering punchy audio with reduced sound leakage.
JBL is also broadening its Endurance line with several additional options aimed at active users. The Endurance Peak 4, Endurance Pace and Endurance Run 3 expand the range to include true wireless earbuds with adaptive noise cancelling, open-ear alternatives and wired models with both 3.5mm and USB-C connections. This approach gives athletes more choice depending on their sport, environment and device preferences.
For everyday wear, JBL introduced the Soundgear CLIPS, an open-ear design that clips onto the ear rather than sitting inside it. Positioned as a fashion-forward audio accessory, the Soundgear CLIPS come in four translucent finishes with metallic accents. They offer up to 32 hours of battery life, Adaptive Bass Boost and a four-microphone system designed to improve call clarity during daily use.
JBL’s air-conduction technology also features in the newly announced Sense Pro and Sense Lite models. Both aim to deliver richer bass and clearer audio than typical open-ear headphones, while still keeping the ear canal open for situational awareness.
Beyond open-ear products, JBL also made new announcements for gamers. The JBL Quantum 950X arrives as the company’s latest flagship gaming headset, featuring 50mm carbon dynamic drivers, Quantum Spatial Sound with head tracking, active noise cancellation and a dual hot-swappable battery system. The design targets players who want long, uninterrupted gaming sessions across multiple platforms.
The Quantum family is further expanded with the Quantum 650X and Quantum 250, bringing similar audio tuning and modular styling to both wireless and wired setups.
Finally, JBL refreshed its popular Tune series, introducing a wide range of new models aimed at everyday listening. The updated line-up includes the Tune 780NC, Tune 680NC, Tune 730BT, Tune 530BT, Tune 530 Wired, Tune 530C, Tune 135BT and Tune 235BT, all promising improved sound quality and more flexible listening options.
