That’s according to an Asus exec who tipped off Android Authority about the imminent arrival of the (long rumoured) tablet decked out with ‘Droid Ice Cream Sandwich, Nvidia quad-core Tegra 3 processor and a ULP GeForce graphics card.
The revelation was made at Computex last week by Asus who are long believed to be behind Google’s first tablet, confirming all will be revealed by June end.
This means a 7″ tab could be launched at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco, kicking off 27-29th June.
And the 7″ inch tablet with 1,280 x 768 res tab will be a bargain tab (if Asus + Google get it right), and sell for between US$150 -$250, reports indicate.
And on the OS front, it will be upgraded to Android 4.1 as soon as it becomes available, although may be a surprise to some who were expecting the new tab to run Jelly Bean 5.0.
Samsung was behind the high spec’d Google Nexus smartphone released late last year, so it will be interesting to see how the Asus-Google tab will fare.
The Nexus will be Google’s answer to Amazon’s 7″ Kindle Fire tab which retails for $199 in the US and runs on older version of Android.
