Domino’s has inked a deal with Amazon, enabling users to order pizzas by speaking directly to their Echo smart speaker device.
The fast food giant states its new voice controlled ordering system will be available on any Amazon Alexa powered device – e.g. its Echo range of smart speakers, which was made available to purchase in Australia yesterday.
Michael Gillespie, Domino’s Group Chief Technology and Digital Officer, states Alexa hands-free voice integration would add a “new meaning” to the company’s commitment to easy online ordering:
“Amazon Alexa provides the magic of hands-free voice control to let customers to do more in life while being helpful, useful and entertaining, and now ordering Domino’s is one of those things”
“Whether our customers are with friends, in the middle of a movie or at home with their family, they can simply just ask Alexa and Alexa will respond immediately to place that order with Domino’s”.
The news comes after Domino’s former announcement in September, wherein the fast food chain affirmed its commitment to technology integration.
Amazon Alexa integration compliments Domino’s existing smart ordering systems, including ‘Zero Click’ ordering. Users can download the Zero Click app to either their Android or Apple device – for example saying ‘Hey Siri, open Zero Click’ to begin voice-controlled ordering.
