Fans of the English Premier League are enraged at Optus, after its Optus Sports App failed to load live game streams yesterday night.
The technical failure may not be as impactful as Foxtel’s recent spectacle concerning its Game of Thrones streaming issue, however, the result does see users calling for a “more capable broadcaster”.
@Optus you and your app are farking useless. Sell the rights to a more capable broadcaster please

The issue seemed more prevalent on mobile app streams, with additional complaints of its Apple TV app not working.
The issue does not bode well for Optus whose branding includes the mantra, the “future of sport”.
Some reports state the problem could lie in an authentication issue around the servers controlling the Optus sports app, whilst others state it may be recent app updates.
Amidst the influx of social media outrage, it seems Optus may have some explaining to do if it wants to position itself as a reliable sports broadcasting service.
