HTC have announced the U11 will be available in Australia from major retailers and telcos starting next Monday, June 5, 2017.
Announced earlier this month, the $999 U11 incorporates “the most advanced features ever in a smartphone” according to HTC, including new touch interaction using Edge Sense, active noise cancelling HTC USonic earphones, and cameras with a DXOMark score of 90, the highest rating ever for a smartphone camera.
“We are proud to bring such a complete, premium smartphone experience to Australian consumers, yet again showcasing HTC’s credentials in design and innovation,” said Thomas Dexmier, HTC Australia and New Zealand Head of Sales and Marketing.
“Incredibly, the HTC U11 audio experience strengthens our already ‘gold standard’ industry position, which when coupled with the worlds’ best smartphone camera, delivers a formidable package to consumers at a price that belies its high end smartphone status,” Dexmier said.
After previously announcing the smartphone’s $999 price tag, HTC has also revealed information for telco plans, including:
- Optus: Available in Amazing Silver and Brilliant Black on any 24 month Postpaid plan. The ‘top pick’ plan is the $85 My Plan Plus ($2040 over 24 months), featuring $0 upfront monthly handset payments and 10GB of data, as well as data-free music streaming
- Virgin Mobile: Available in Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver for $65 per month ($2560 over 24 months) including 4GB of data
- Telstra: Available from July 4 on a range of consumer and business plans
The HTC U11 will be available from Optus, Virgin Mobile, JB Hi-Fi and Harvey Norman from June 5 and Telstra on July 4.
