Taiwanese maker HTC has launched its Vive virtual reality device at the Barcelona event, and says it will be available for pre-order on its Web site from February 29 at a price of US$799.
The price includes a ski-goggle-like headset, two wireless controllers and two small motion sensors to place in any room where the headset is being used.
The Vive will also be capable of making and receiving phone calls and text messages, so users can “combine both realities without losing touch of either,” HTC said.
The price is $200 more than the bill for Facebook’s Oculus Rift.
