HTC resellers around the world are offering HTC smartphones with subsidies and most devices are priced around the $200 mark. And operators in some countries going even further and offering HTC smartphones for free on a contract.
In fact, Chou has gone on record and said that HTC welcome the competition from Apple, stating the smartphone market is “still a large market and there’s room for everyone”.
Chou, who will be in Australia soon to launch a new version of the HTC smartphone will have the chance to repeat those comments to local tech lovers who seemed to have embraced news of the impending release of the iPhone in typical Apple-related near-religious zeal.
