Embattled actioncam manufacturer, GoPro, has seemingly revealed its new ‘Hero 7’, following leaked in-store displays published to Reddit. The device is tipped to release in the United States later this month.
Uploaded by AustinMittelstadt, displays reveal a camera available in either a white, silver or black variants.
Similar to other GoPro cameras, the Hero 7 claims to be waterproof (up to 10m), with each ‘coloured’ device incorporating different features.
As per leaked displays, the ‘white’ and ‘silver’ Hero 7 cameras do not feature a front screen, whilst the ‘black’ version does.
The Hero 7 follows GoPro’s Hero 6 launched last year, coupled with its affordable ‘Hero’ and 360-degree ‘Fusion’ cam. In a bid to centralise operations and boost profitability, the company recently announced its exit from the drone market.
It’s been a tough time of late for the actioncam manufacturer, with sales dropping 38% [YoY] earlier this year, and over 300 job cuts.
Despite a whopping 40% jump in Q2 revenue, GoPro finished the quarter with a loss of US$37 million.
GoPro Founder and Chief Executive, Nicholas Woodman, claims continued turnaround efforts will restore the company to profitability in the second half of 2018.
