Logitech has taken the wraps off its G810 Orion Spectrum full-size mechanical gaming keyboard, decked out with Romer-G mechanical switches and intelligent RGB illumination.Logitech states that the G810’s Romer-G mechanical switches offer 25 per cent faster actuation than standard mechanical keyboards, while users can select and personalise each individual key light from a spectrum of more than 16.8 million colours using Logitech Gaming Software (LGS).
Users can mark keys by colour to keep track of spells and other commands, or change colours to match their setup, while lighting effects can be synchronised with other Logitech G gaming gear.
Central backlighting helps find the right keys in game and in the dark, while LGS comes pre-loaded with custom lighting profiles for over 300 games.
The G810 additionally features dedicated media controls that can be used to play, pause and mute music and videos instantly, while the roller can be used to adjust the volume, or skip to the next song.
“We met with dozens of gamers over the last year-and-a-half and asked them what they wanted in a gaming keyboard,” Ujesh Desai, Logitech vice president and general manager of gaming, commented.
“The result is the G810 Orion Spectrum, a clean, sophisticated design that’s focused on delivering pure performance.”
Logitech states that the G810 is expected to be available in February for a suggested retail price of $249.95.
