Logitech has unveiled the Logitech Crayon, a digital pencil built exclusively for the 9.7-inch iPad and previously only available for students, now available at Logitech.com, Apple.com, Apple stores and selected major retailers at a suggested retail price of $109.95.
The Logitech Crayon has a durable design that will stay put when set down thanks to its easy-to-grip flat surface and can survive drops of up to 1.2 metres.
It has a palm-rejection feature that will automatically ignore any touch that doesn’t come from the digital pencil, so users can rest their hands on the iPad screen without affecting what they are creating.
Logitech Crayon doesn’t need to pair with iPads, it connects instantly when turned on and provides up to seven hours of active writing time on a single charge.
Logitech Crayon uses Apple Pencil technology although it does not offer pressure sensitivity, instead, its smart tip adjusts line weight allowing you to transition from thick to thin lines by tilting the tip.
The Logitech Crayon is useful for marking or highlighting written work, highlighting text, taking notes, creating artwork, and editing images using your favourite iPad apps from the App Store.
Although first marketed towards students as a versatile writing tool, Michele Hermann, vice president of mobility at Logitech stated in a press release that by making it more widely available they are opening up new avenues for creatives to “express themselves and communicate new ideas”.
“Logitech Crayon works seamlessly with iPad and the most popular creativity and productivity apps from the App Store so whether you are learning to write a new language, jotting down notes, marking up a screenshot or PDF, or visualising an idea, Crayon is the perfect tool for the task,” Hermann says.
The Logitech Crayon is available on Logitech.com, Apple.com, Apple stores, and selected major retailers for a suggested retail price of $109.95.
