iiNet is spreading its wings into smartphones – revealing new plans for business users. The Perth based ISP is looking to the Android platform to make shakes in the phone business – selling Samsung Galaxy S II and Alcatel models.

“Samsung Galaxy S II, Samsung Galaxy S and Alcatel OT99 will be offered on competitive plans designed to give businesses greater flexibility and value for money,” it said today.
The mobile phones are available on a 24-month contract or can be purchased outright when matched with a SIM card plan.
The Alcatel starts at $8, while Samsung Galaxy S is available on a $20 plan and S II for $30 a month.
The ISP, who provides 1.3m services to Aussie customers, is turning to telcoms to bolster its business, pushing flexible mix-and-match deals in contrast to rivals Telstra and Optus’ fixed term plans.
SIM-only plans range from $14.95 (worth $225) and includes 200MB data to $49 (worth $860) with a whopping 3GB data allowance.
The new offering will add to iiNet’s current no-contract SIM plans, which users can mix-and-match the phones, which start from $8 per month and can be paired with Business Voice, which allows customers to turn their mobile into an extension of the office landline.
This latest business offering meets the growing demand from organisations looking for a better alternative, said iiNet Business CEO, Greg Bader.
“The fact you can mix-and-match a contract-free SIM card with a mobile phone means you can create a plan that meets your business needs, no matter your budget.”
iiNet is supporting three Android phones for businesses initially, but plans to extend the range of mobile devices in the future.
“We chose to offer Android phones first because they’re well known as a flexible platform for future innovation,” Bader added.
“However, we understand that there’s a demand to support a broader range of devices and we will consider extending our offerings soon.”
